Recently, the 750,000-kilowatt photovoltaic and concentrated solar power pilot project of Huidong New Energy Co., Ltd. in Aksai Kazakh Autonomous County, Jiuquan City, Gansu Province, the largest single-unit tower-type concentrated solar power project under construction in China, participated in by Shaanxi Construction and Installation Group, has achieved full-capacity grid connection, marking the official commissioning of the largest tower-type concentrated solar power project among the first batch of national "desert-go-bi-wasteland" projects. This will serve as a demonstration for the development of the national concentrated solar power industry.
This project is a major provincial project and, as one of the first batch of national "concentrated solar power +" demonstration power stations, has been included in the national "concentrated solar power +" pilot project sequence. Located within the 10-million-kilowatt solar thermal power generation base in Aksai Kazakh Autonomous County, the project covers an area of approximately 20.6 square kilometers and has a total installed capacity of 750 MW, including 640 MW of photovoltaic power generation and 110 MW of concentrated solar power generation. The project adopts an intelligent coupled power generation mode of "concentrated solar power + photovoltaic," which solves the problems of volatility and intermittency of pure photovoltaic power stations while improving the economic efficiency of the power station. After completion, the project will provide 1.7 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually, saving 507,000 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 1.47 million tons annually, equivalent to afforestation of 1.2 million mu. This will effectively contribute to the national goal of achieving "carbon peak and carbon neutrality".
