Recently, the Xining City Seventh Water Plant water supply facility renovation and upgrading project was successfully completed. The water commissioning test passed on the first try, and it has officially started operation. The Seventh Water Plant has now reached its full capacity of 300,000 cubic meters per day! This marks the complete completion of the Seventh Water Plant's capacity expansion and renovation project. The Yinda Jihang Project will supply 300,000 cubic meters of high-quality water to Xining City every day, benefiting millions of citizens. The project's social, ecological, and economic benefits are gradually becoming apparent.
The Xining City Seventh Water Plant water supply facility renovation and upgrading project is a key project in Xining City's groundwater source replacement work. The Seventh Water Plant draws water from the Heiquan Reservoir. Through the construction of four sets of water treatment facilities, activated carbon and potassium permanganate addition rooms, and a power distribution room, as well as the supporting process systems, along with the renovation of existing water production equipment and facilities, chlorination and chemical addition, sludge circulation, and the restoration and commissioning of the wastewater reflux system (more than 10 individual upgrades), the water production capacity has been significantly improved.
The expansion of the Seventh Water Plant can completely replace the water supply tasks of the Fourth and Sixth groundwater sources in Xining City. Users in the original groundwater supply areas will now use high-quality water diverted from the Yinda Jihang Project. The sulfate, chloride, and nitrate nitrogen concentrations in the surface water source are lower than the groundwater indicators in the same area, significantly improving the water quality. High-quality surface water resources from the Heiquan Reservoir will benefit approximately 1.01 million residents of Xining, upgrading the water supply from "合格水" (qualified water) to "优质水" (high-quality water). The improvement in water supply efficiency will further strengthen unified water resource management, promote groundwater protection, and optimize water resource allocation, truly fulfilling the commitment to meet the high-quality life needs of the people with high-quality water supply.
