Recently, the 400,000-ton/year coal tar phenol extraction unit and the 40,000-ton/year coal-based new material construction general contracting project (Phase 1: phenol refining project) of Shaanxi Construction Installation Group Shenmu City Xinneng Juke Technology Development Co., Ltd. successfully completed the intermediate handover and acceptance work, marking a phased victory in the project construction.
This project is one of the first batch of high-end coal-based fine chemical projects in Yulin City and Shenmu City, and is a key demonstration project for the extension of northern Shaanxi coal chemical industry to downstream fine chemical industry. The project is located in the Jinjie Industrial Park of Yulin City, covering an area of 241 mu. It includes a newly built 400,000-ton/year coal tar phenol extraction unit, a 40,000-ton/year coal-based new material project, supporting public utilities, tank areas and other auxiliary devices, and a supporting waste gas treatment system. The main process route is to extract abundant phenolic substances from coal tar, purify them, and then process them into pesticides, pharmaceutical intermediates, and new chemical materials through fine processing.
Phenolic compounds are important chemical raw materials. Based on phenols, various chemical products such as antioxidants, biodegradable plastics, adhesives, and insecticides can be produced. This project extracts phenols from coal tar and then develops refined crude phenols and downstream phenol products. This will further extend and refine the downstream phenol industry chain and phenol products of coal tar, promote the deep processing and refined utilization of coal affiliated products, realize the sustainable utilization of resources, achieve high economic benefits, and also have good social and environmental benefits.
